I had to ask my doctor friend, but when you die, your brain goes through “Liquefactive necrosis”. We’ll break that down:

“Necrosis” is when cells signal to themselves that it’s time to die. In the brain, when you die, electrical signals stop being sent. Your brain cells are wired to kill themselves if they’re not receiving these signals, and so all the brain cells start destroying themselves.

Liquefaction kind of gives you a hint to its meaning – changing to liquid. Because of the structure of the brain and brain cells, the self-destructive cells turn to liquid: a sloppy mess of all the things that the cells used to hold inside, now floating free through the brain.

Basically what I’m saying is that when you die, your brain stops working and then melts.

      Which is awesome.
